Our Team is looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill
the position of Senior Civil Structural Engineer with our Client located in New Orleans,
Louisiana.
Duties & Responsibilities
Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:
• Work with project team to create or modify all civil and structural design
documents as needed.
• Use project specific standards and ensure that the design efforts are
progressing in the most efficient manner possible.
• Perform engineering and design functions as necessary to meet project
schedules.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with client representatives,
project team, and management.
• Ensure correct application of engineering standards
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work.
• Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university, or
an equivalent degree with experience in the Civil Engineering field, is required.
Direct experience and proven knowledge in concrete and steel structural
engineering is required. A minimum of five years of direct experience and proven
knowledge in concrete and structural steel engineering is required.
Possess skills in the following areas:
• The ideal candidate has experience with geotechnical firms, Reading,
understanding reports and translating the requirements to design
• Knowledge and understanding of steel and concrete design
• Strong knowledge of common engineering application software; RISA 3D or
similar
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of engineering standards and
design codes
• Experience in wind, seismic design, and familiarity with all applicable design
codes
• Experience leading design teams, directing design and drafting, and
mentoring engineers
• Experience with creation of bid packages
• Communicating effectively with co-workers, vendors, clients, and
construction inquiries
